The symbolism was to smash the words of the LTV Steel'smanagement that used the taped message to outline the company'sprecarious financial position and advocate a package of concessionsfor employee and retiree benefits.
If the steelmaker is to keep its plants open, solvency needs tohappen within the next two weeks, the company says, or LTV can't payback $700 million in bankruptcy loans.
